Celebrity activist Greta Thunberg being held in bedbug-infested cell in Israel: ‘Sitting for long periods on hard surfaces’
Celebrity Climate Activist Greta Thunberg is claiming that she’s been subjected to heinous conditions inside a bedbug-infested cell in Israel. The news comes after she was arrested by Israeli authorities and then put in jail as part of her detention for bringing an aid flotilla bound for Gaza.
Sweden’s Foreign Ministry notified Thunberg’s parents through email that they had met with the outspoken 22-year-old in Israel. In the email, the officials mentioned how Thunberg complained of dehydration and said she was not given enough food or water. She also mentioned that she had developed rashes all over her body, which she suspected were due to bedbugs.
She even spoke of harsh treatment and said that she had been sitting for long durations on hard surfaces. Thunberg also mentioned to Swedish dignitaries that she was forced to pose for pictures by holding flags and wanted to know if they had been shared with the press.
As of right now, it’s not clear which flags she might have been forced to pose with. Sources revealed how Thunberg’s boat was one of more than 40 intercepted by authorities in Israel on Thursday.
