Olympics Gender Row Boxer Imane Khelif Bursts in Tears & Declares ‘I Am a Woman’ After Winning Medal
To have an Olympics tournament free from controversy is nearly impossible and this time around, the boxing event had people talking for obvious reasons.
Imane Khelif burst into tears after guaranteeing herself a medal in this year’s event, even though she is the most controversial athlete during the Paris games this year.
The 25-year-old star won her second bout at the tournament when she beat out her opponent who hails from Hungary. The news of victory had the boxer overcome by emotions as a gush of tears ran through her face.
She hugged her coach and team members and thanked God for this great achievement, adding how it has been a really tough time for her recently.
During her first bout, she managed to beat out her opponent from Italy, Angela Carini, who decided to give up after just 46 seconds into the match.
Tonight was a different feeling for Imane altogether as she confidently spoke about how much injustice was done to her in the past, reiterating that she is a woman and not a man, despite what others may claim.
