Dad ‘died of grief’ after daughter, 12, was ra*ed and beheaded by migrant in France, her mom reveals
A French court has sentenced 27-year-old Dhabia Benkired, an Algerian national, to life in prison without parole for the 2022 kidnapping and killing of 12-year-old Lola Daviet in Paris.
Lola’s mother told the court that her husband, Johan Daviet, later “died of grief,” saying he began drinking heavily after the loss.
Benkired, who had overstayed her visa, lured Lola to an apartment, where she was tortured and killed. The case sparked protests across France and renewed debate over immigration enforcement after officials revealed the suspect had been ordered to leave the country two months before the crime.
