“Worst Mom Ever”: Woman Steals Daughter’s Dance Date — Then Has His Baby
A mother has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after she allegedly had a baby with her daughter’s 14-year-old date to a school dance.
Robyn Polston, 43, was placed into custody by the Washington Police Department in Illinois on November 3 following accusations that she had a baby in January with her teen daughter’s friend.
She faces two counts of criminal sexual assault with a victim between the ages of 13 and 17, as well as two counts of possession of child pornography, according to a court filing. If convicted, Polston could face up to 15 years in prison for each of the charges, according to People.
The hairstylist is being held without bail and has not yet entered a plea deal. She is expected to be formally arraigned on December 4. Authorities began investigating a tip about the illicit relationship after she gave birth in January, and on February 13 they obtained a copy of the newborn’s birth certificate.
Polston had given the baby the exact middle and last name as the alleged victim, according to a probable cause affidavit. When confronted about who the father of the baby was, Polston claimed that it was a man in his twenties named Brian who had been gone since she gave birth.

A detective took DNA samples from the mother, the alleged victim, and the baby. The data confirmed that the duo were the infant’s parents. Authorities discovered during their investigation that Polston had chaperoned a school dance that her daughter and the alleged victim attended together in May of 2023.
Officials spoke with the young boy and his family and found that shortly after the school event, he had moved out of the area, the affidavit stated. He returned in April and June of 2024 for brief visits to see a ‘friend.’ The April visit took place approximately 40 weeks before Polston gave birth, according to the affidavit.
The alleged victim later permanently moved back to Washington to live with the family of a ‘friend,’ said the document.

Google accounts connected with the boy’s cellphone were seized following a search warrant, which revealed sexually explicit images and videos of Polston and the victim, according to the affidavit.
Cassandra Mullikin, the Assistant State’s Attorney for Tazewell County, reviewed the content and determined that Polston was responsible for taking the pictures. Prosecutors allege Polston and the minor both used burner phones and had each other’s contact details saved under fake names in an effort to conceal their identities.
She had also allegedly tried to get the minor to cover up the offending. In requesting that she remain behind bars as the case progresses, prosecutors claimed she could not be trusted to follow court orders and avoid contact with the young boy. She will remain in jail ahead of her December 4 court appearance.
