Man Robs Bank to Escape His Wife — Then Begs to Go to Prison!
In 2016, 70-year-old Lawrence John Ripple calmly robbed a Kansas City bank, then sat in the lobby waiting for police.
Investigators learned he had argued with his wife and claimed prison sounded preferable to going home.
He later pleaded guilty, and in 2017, a federal judge sentenced him not to prison, but to six months of home confinement and community service.
