Cop Tases Woman In Front Of Her Children Over Expired Tag… Charges Got Thrown Out After Bodycam Review!

Alica Cook was parked outside a Michigan high school dropping off her daughter for cheer practice when Lt. Matthew Furman of Melvindale PD approached her over an expired tag and lack of insurance.

She was in her friend’s car, which had just been used by someone recovering from surgery. Things escalated quickly—Cook begged for calm and reminded the officer her kids were in the car, but he fired his taser in front of them anyway.

The city dropped all charges—including resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license—after reviewing the bodycam footage.
