“You Shouldn’t Mess With Another Man’s Butterfly”

A Virginia man was left paralyzed after being attacked with an axe by the husband of a woman he was secretly seeing.

The victim says he had no idea she was married—she never wore a ring or mentioned her husband.

The attacker, who called his wife “Butterfly,” found out about the affair, ambushed the man, and butchered him with a hatchet, nearly cutting off his arm and leaving deep gashes in his back and legs. During the brutal attack, the husband told him, “You shouldn’t mess with another man’s Butterfly.”

The victim lay bleeding in his car for three days before someone found him. He survived after 17 surgeries but can no longer walk. The husband fled to Mexico and hasn’t been caught.
