Born in Chicago, he became the first American pope in history, prompting celebration and controversy alike in the United States.

Donald Trump called the appointment an “honor,”. However, some of his closest supporters reacted with anger and open hostility.

Laura Loomer accuses pope Leo of being ‘anti-MAGA’
Far-right activist Laura Loomer, known for promoting conspiracy theories and inflammatory rhetoric, attacked Pope Leo XIV in a series of online posts.

On X (formerly Twitter), she labeled the newly elected pope a “woke Marxist puppet”. She also accused him of being anti-Trump.

Loomer also claimed he supports open borders and dismissed him as “another Marxist like Pope Francis.

Loomer wrote: “Catholics don’t have anything good to look forward to, she added. “Just another Marxist puppet in the Vatican.”

In another post, she simply wrote: “WOKE MARXIST POPE.”
