‘I’ve spent £40k tattooing 98% of my body – it’s made me more adventurous and confident’
Bethany Moore has spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on funding her body art obsession, and says that it has given her a new-found confidence in every situation
An influencer has proudly claimed to be “the UK’s most tattooed woman” – and has splashed out £40,000 to indulge her obsession.
Bethany Moore has spent the last decade covering herself in extreme body art, leaving just her head and feet blank. According to the 29-year-old from East Sussex, her interesting appearance has armed her with a special kind of confidence.
The content creator, from East Sussex, shared her thoughts around her ink-fuelled craze, and said: “Tattooed women are 100% better in bed,” the content creator told. Coming from a girl who was once shy and timid, and body-shaming herself, to shining with confidence, I couldn’t be more different.
“I think it’s down to the fact that if we’re brave enough to get tattooed the way we are, then of course we’re going to be more open-minded and experimental in the bedroom. The more body art – the better
Known as @thegreatwave101 on the internet, Bethany shared she spend a whopping £30,000 on her body. Not only that, but in the last few months, she’s spent another ten grand on her tattoos – and that isn’t the end of it.
Bethany first started her tattoo journey when she was just 18 years old when she dedicated a piece to her deceased family dog. She said: “It’s exhilarating. “There is no feeling like it. “The more tattoos I got, the happier I was in my skin.”
However, Bethany’s lifestyle hasn’t come without its challenges as she frequently has to put up with trolling. The influencer said: “People will say I was beautiful before – and now I’m not. That I’ve ‘ruined my body’, ‘look a mess’ or that I’m not going to look good when I’m 70.
“When I’m walking down the street, people turn their heads to stare at me – I would’ve hated it in the past but now I just don’t mind. “I’ve had strangers cross the street to tell me how I’ve ‘ruined’ my looks and that I’m a ‘bad role model’. I just don’t know why trolls think I’ll care.”
She added: “If they want to take time out of their day to comment on my posts, go for it – doesn’t bother me. I do this for myself. If people stop me to compliment me, I now have the confidence to stand proud and say thank you. I’m super happy with how it has all turned out, and now at almost 30 years old, I know who I am.”
The influencer’s partner, Josh Young, 28, is very supportive of her love of tattoos. Bethany said: He supports me all the way. He also has a tattoo bodysuit, we’re the perfect match.”
As for the model’s art, she plans to finish off her legs before taking a little break. But she’ll be back under the tattoo needle soon. She said: “I’ll take some time away, then think about my feet and head. I want them done but I’m not in any rush. For anyone who is thinking of getting inked, do what you want and get what you want to get. No one is perfect – but being yourself is.”
